I watched season 1 of this Americanized program about the life and times of Pablo Escobar and thought it was pretty good. I’m looking forward to season 2’s release in September on Netflix.

I have tried to watch all of the films and TV shows about this crucial time in the history of Colombia and my favorite one so far was produced by Caracol TV in Colombia and is in Spanish with English subtitles. It’s called “Pablo Escobar: El Patrón del Mal” and is also available on Netflix.
Both of these are not documentaries, so they are entertainment based on historical facts with some fictionalization. “Narcos” is told from the viewpoint of the American law enforcement working in Colombia. The Caracol produced series is told from the viewpoint of a newspaper publisher and the family that owned it in Colombia that became a target of Pablo Escobar.
I like both of them.
