Portable Amateur Radio Operations Sunrise Park Holly Hill FL

I took my portable QRP ham radio out to Sunrise Park in Holly Hill FL along with my portable antenna to try and make contacts.

I was using a Yaesu FT-817ND, a LDG Z-817 antenna tuner, and a Chameleon Antenna MPAS portable antenna. I had the Military extension whip and spike mount options installed.

I used a Paxcess portable 12 volt power pack to provide power to my radio so that I could operate at 5 watts.

Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Association Wednesday Portable Ops Veteran’s Park South Daytona FL

Every Wednesday the Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Association (DBARA) has members who bring portable batteries, transceivers, and antennas to a local park and they setup low power amateur radio stations.

They contact other amateur radio stations and log their success at communicating over distances while using a minimum amount of power.

I stepped out to pickup some Chinese food for supper tonight and took a couple of minutes to shoot this at the shopping center I drove to pick it up from.  I used Auto mode  It was dusk time and this is right beside a busy road.

I’ll have this in addition to my webcams, GoPro, and smartphone as a choice when creating videos for this YouTube channel and my blogs.
